Every year, a word takes center stage and becomes our north star. We select it carefully and with full intention that this word will encapsulate the sentiments, decisions, and ambitions we have for the year ahead. In 2023, we landed on the word joy. Described as a moment of intense positive emotion, that overtime, compounded, leads to happiness, which is linked to better health, productivity, creative thinking, problem solving, and stronger relationships, this was exactly what we set out to achieve. When I look back on the last twelve months, I’m proud to say that this was well reflected in our actions and accomplishments. While it wasn’t without its challenges, it was a year with glimmers of joy, consistently throughout that created a wonderful ripple effect and impacted so many, both within organizations and within communities.
When we look at the world around us now, we believe it’s clear that we need more of what brings us together. That’s why we’ve landed on exactly that, the word “Together” for the year 2024.
Together is not just a word; it’s a mindset and a way of moving forward. It’s the idea that we can achieve so much more when we work with others, that we are much stronger when we stand together than when we stand alone. And that we don’t have to stand alone. It’s the idea of not only letting others in, but inviting them in. Together, we can solve complex problems, and we can make the most significant impact on what matters most.
For us, Together is about inclusivity, it’s about building a better place to be, work, and live. It’s about working in union toward a common goal of creating and sustaining communities where everyone not only survive, but thrive. We hope it will serve as a reminder that we are part of something much bigger, and that the future is brighter and better, together.
